Linh Truong's 7th Annual Paintball Charity Event 2018
On Sunday, December 9, 2018, over 320 paintball players showed up at Action Star Paintball in Perris, California for Linh Truong's 7th Annual Paintball Charity Event.
This year raffle proceeds went to the family of Jung Hong and Gardens of Innocence. Cal State University Art lecturer Jung Hong died of cancer on August 28. Jung taught graphic design and served as a part time faculty member at CSUN for over 17 years. In the world of paintball, he was known for many designs created for Khrome Paintball. Garden of Innocence provides dignified burials for abandoned & unidentified children.
Many sponsors attended this year, including CC Paintball, UQL, Push Paintball, and crowd favorite Bacci Paintball with his mobile history paintball museum, PaintballHistory.com. Of course, for lunch, Pops Tacos returned to many delighted attendees. Games spanned up to 3 fields combined with as many as 80 players per side with respawns to extend longer game play to accommodate the crowd.
Special guests showed up to promote and help run the event with notable paintball team members from Destiny and superstar Destiny Team Captain Bea Youngs assisting with the raffle draw.

Linh's 5th Annual Paintball Charity Game 2016
Paintball players from far and local returned for Linh's 5th Annual Charity Paintball Game held at Action Star Games in Perris, California on Sunday, December 11, 2016. This year all proceeds from raffle ticket sales went to Garden of Innocence, which provides dignified burials for abandoned and unidentified children. Tons of items, products, and new paintball markers were generously dontated by the different vendors and sponsors supporting the event. Back by popular demand was Pop's Tacos serving up quesidillas and taco plate combos. The lunch line was full!
It actually rained slightly in the morning on the way in, but not bad as the weather cleared up for plenty of big back to back games with respawns using up 3 large fields. The parking lot was pretty full comparable if not more attendees from last year.
On vendor row, many return sponsors were back. Paintball Gateway was there with their famous impromtu barbeque tables and big trailer. A huge thank you to their friendly staff for fixing my tank leak which they had operational in a jiffy! New to the scene was Dirty Bastard Soap Company, who had the most stand out unique booth that made a lot of sense to be there, since players get so dirty after a big day of play. When asked how the company came up with the idea and the unique line of products, Laura Hudson said "Why not, if the ladies can have all natural and sustainable ingredients the guys should too!"
Bacci and his Old School Paintball booth was back for year 5, showing off a rich history of rare and vintage paintball markers and gear. You can see actual markers owned by well known famous names of paintball like Dave Youngblood and Bob Long. The booth had rare tournament jerseys and on the tables you could see masks from long ago that early paintball players wore that wouldn't pass today's ATSM standards.
A huge welcome to "Mean Gene" Stein from Autocockerparts to his first time at this event. He brought samples of his "SLICE" modular pump kits, which was really cool to see and new to the pump scene. Pump players at this game were abundant and this was a good place to see the kits up close. With these you can customize and change different lengths and colors of your pump handle as you want.
Overall, it was a fun day that was family friendly and looking forward to Linh Truong keeping this end of year tradition continuing on!
